The album, originally released in 2009 by Not Not Fun, is an ode to the slow rhythm of the (gentle) ocean wave. This waveform being a virsi of the Sea-Faring Isolation writings, conducted by John Cunningham Lilly.

Dolphins Into The Future "Canto Arquipélago" lp

"Canto Arquipélago" is an audio poem for the Açores. It being an elogio for this (and others) beautiful and metaphorical volcanic archipelago(s). The album is a coherent scrapbook collection of on site fieldrecordings and automatically written cantatas. Recorded at our temporary studios in a small fishermen town, São João, on the island of Pico.
Ilha Do Pico is a small isle in the central group of the Açores archipelago. Where we lived for a few months, in the aforementioned friendly village, closed in by the Atlantic ocean and the bush. On the flank of one of Europe’s highest volcanic mountains, Pico. The haze, the extreme beauty, the energy and the dramatics of a sleepy wild place on the Mid Atlantic volcanic ridges, is felt in every hiss and sound.
The rhythm of the archipelago, as being my guide.

The album is masterered by Graham Lambkin.
And will be published by Underwater Peoples.

"There is something phenomenally enticing about a sequestered island chain, literally bounded by a vast and enveloping sea.
Perhaps it’s the romance of discovery – the knowledge that here lies the safety of land within the great seclusion of nature. Perhaps it’s the raw beauty that is simply emerald speckled turquoise.
Lieven Moana as Dolphins Into The Future dedicates his latest effort to the Azores, a remarkably beautiful volcanic archipelago that lacks very little by way of inspiration. The ambient conjurer weaves glorious tones and minimal percussion with brilliant and evocative field recording, having spent several weeks on the island cluster for this body of work. “Once an island gets born,” Lieven articulates, “it’s a continuous struggle, a continuous dialogue, a learning, a BATTLE and cooperation of influences. The sea starts bashing on it’s shores. Erosion starts the complete demolition of the island. But at the same time, sun and sea give birth and food… Archipelagos have a heavy rhythm.”

Since the Cetacean Nation Studios crew is moving shop towards the mid Atlantic for half a year, we're presenting the last three episodes of 2011 of the Oceaan Der Geluid Radioshow! These will be aired Tuesday 18th of july, Tuesday 25th of july and Tuesday 2nd of august.

Starting on the 9th of august, our show will be replaced by an Innercity / DJ Backstabber collaborational programme. They're going to program a mixture of new / old african pop music, the utopian dystopian Terrence McK addiction vibrations, and soundwaves coming from the Hollow Earth. Have fun with Hans Dens and Eva Tourné on your ears!

We'll be back with the regular programme in january 2012.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 19th of july, we have our close friend and deepest collaborator Floris Vanhoof live in the studio during the whole programme. He's going to perform live, play his music and Talk. It's your perfect opportunity to bath in his golden world of sound and vision.

These landscapes are recorded inuali & iulae 2010 at the Cetacean Nation Studios in Antwerp, and at Wiels, Brussels. The two compositions are based on and inspired by the works of Ada Van Hoorebeke.

When i look at Ada's work, i can hear new landscapes, new places i've never heard before. Ada's work holds a beautiful resonance. Her work is a gateway for me into new worlds, new frequencies. These two compositions are made in admiration.

When i listen to Lievens work, i can see new landscapes, new places i've never seen before. Lievens music resonates in my paintings. His work is a gateway for me into new worlds, new frequencies. These two compositions are the voice of my installations: Spirits & Landscapes, and Eternal Hunting Grounds.

FLORIS VANHOOF (be)

Filmmaker and musician Floris Vanhoof (Belgium, 1982) approaches the celluloid of his films and the electronic components of his instruments closely. Electronic circuits are vivified inspired by the liveliness of what happened around structural film and West Coast Free- and Tape music. With an arrangement of electronic gear and film- or slide projectors he searches for the essence and potential of multi media performance. Every concert becomes a hybrid form of projected images, an electronic patchwork and field recorded sounds. After releases on Breaking World Records and Taped Sounds his Vinyl debute came out on Ultra Eczema. A split with Dolphins Into The Future will be released by Experimedia and he's now recording for Kraak.

Charles Berlitz, former agent for boy band, The Skaters, has been inventing landscape music for years, and runs his own productions company called PACIFIC CITY SOUND VISIONS. Engelbert and Humpledinck have raved that: `Monopoly Child Star Searchers is a fusion music, but not a fusion of genres of music, but that of a fusion of the Stars, the Sun, and the Tschungle!` He has albums out on Olde English Spelling Bee, Rose City Aquariums Unlimited, and Blauwe Oceanic Records. Charles will be presenting to the East Coast his new sound `StarSwept`, which he explains as: "A memory blast of the beauty and evil that was experienced at the Spectacle of Light Festival in Salt Lake City 1988." my debut lp, "... On Sea-Faring Isolation", just got re-released by NotNotFun. this is probably the final edition after the lp and tape versions.... get it here. or see a video from one of the songs here. or listen to mp3 snippets here.

for people that missed out on the Ke Ala Ke Kua lp, there's an upcoming limited cassette reissue, produced by the Japanese heads of Moamoo (i will also issue a cd with new material on this label too, in the somewhere near future).

we're currently in the process of booking a tour on the Eastcoast / Midwest of the USA. Dolphins Into The Future will be touring in april, together with Monopoly Child Star Searchers (homemade temples by Spencer Clark) and Floris Vanhoof (homemade electronics by this Floris Copperfield). we will be posting the exact dates soon.

in may i'll be playing shows in Europe, together with JD Emmanuel. and in june i will play a few shows in Canada, since i'm invited by the Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival!!

the announced two new Taped Sounds releases are a bit delayed but are coming up soonish....

working on a track for a Sloow Tapes cassette compilation, and a track for a split 7" with Floris Vanhoof (coming out on Experimedia). i'm also laying the last hands on the mastering of the Ada Van Hoorebeke & Lieven Moana "eternal landscapes" lp. this is coming out on Aguirre. super stoked on this one! the lp comes in a gatefold cover with Ada's beautiful artwork all over...... the sounds on the lp are the music and eternal compositions i've created, inspired by Ada's work.
